Life

Life

A Poem by Eilidh

I’ve learned a lot in my short life,

Even more in the past few years.

A lot of fake smiles but nothing i would let anyone see,

Too many fake friends that caused too many unseen tears.

That true love isn’t always true,

And often your heart gets torn in two.

I’ve learnt that people,

Don’t think about what they say.

They don’t realize that words cut deeper,

That any knife ever could.

They leave a lasting scar,

One only you know about,

And one that can never be healed.

My heart has been broken by someone,

I thought was the one.

But I’ve learnt that your heart will mend,

Even if it’s a month or a year or two.

You will eventually find someone who is right for you.

In order to have a story to tell

You have to experience so much hell.

Very beautiful! Your poem gives hope and has a beautifull meaning. How ever, if I were you I would work on the rhyme scheme, somethimes it doesn't run very smoth. Keep up the good work and I will continue reading it!
