A Poem by DIVYA
"

A muse of mine....

"

She sees light yet holding her own hand

walks herself for miles and miles in the dark,

meeting herself deeply, in the woods.

In meadows ripe and full, she often starves

herself, feasting richly upon harvests of herself.

To those who sought her, she remains closed,

bursting open at the strangest places,

releasing her spores freely into the air.

When spring comes looking for her,

she assumes the colours of Saturn

diving under the earth, never surfacing

till the darkness promises to return.

Her lounge is large, her banquets lavish,

without ever inviting a soul. Hiding from

sunshine, she often goes out to meet

storms, in bodices cut very low.

She has kissed snakes and loved being

bitten in the soul. Her gardens grow in her scars.

Her heart is a cloudy puff, sometimes grey,

sometimes gold, but always adrift.

In life, she became what becomes her.

She isn’t easy to peep into but sometimes

you see her waters slosh and her insides move.

She can fill a belly with love and laughs

yet she can be as painful as a boil or a

drip of burning wax upon a torso.

You are writing like Kosinski dear Divya. Making the reader feel and grasp every scene.

I adored the above lines. You must write a book. Your world, you live in. Had so much history. I would love to roam for a year. Thank you dear poet for sharing the outstanding poetry.

She sure does sound sketchy to me...avoidance seems to be one of talents though, reading this...I'd say that didn't work out to well for her this time. I loved this Divya. So many cool lines and visions float through this poem. It was amazing.

muses are scarce when they want to be...they rule us, we do not rule them.
and they often hide in our scars until they are ready to fester before exploding into poems.

They are so powerful...
Thanks, dear friend.
If this is your muse, she certainly has a strong character. She knows the dark and has lived through the storms. Having said that she is also familiar with the light.enjoying both love and laughter. The final stanza tells me she is complex. Boils are painful and not easy to live with, best lanced. As for burning wax on a torso.... ouch lol. A interesting read dear DIVYA. Never a dull moment I would say.

Very sensual and tactile poem, so intriguing and it seems as though it is about tough yet sometimes abused femininity. Thank you DIVYA. Colors of Saturn, bodices cut very low, handling snakes and ending with (Tsssssss) wax "upon a torso". Provocative "bitten in the soul", I hope that whatever the wounds are- that this treasure can continue....

Quite a fascinating written portrait! She sounds like a very strange bird this woman.

If it's about the muse inside, then it is a very accurate description; dwelling in the dark, moody, intense, capable of spreading much love and laughter but also capable of inflicting pain of immeasurable proportions. I could arguably declare that your piece sums up the great enigma that is Woman herself. She is a complex specie, all at once soulful, loving with various shades of brilliance but sometimes a tempest to be left alone to whirl herself from her dark side and back into the light. A very interesting character study with some fine descriptions of originality, as always. Your pen is certainly tuned into the ink at present with the variety of styles and themes you are producing.

A pleasure to read as always, DIVYA.🌷

The subject of this poem is an interesting lady indeed. Stormy is the first word that comes to mind. I get the feeling that though attractive to many, and possibly outwardly very pleasant, on the inside she is her own worst enemy. She is a seeker of the dark spaces, even avoids the light. The reason for this dichotomy is not specified, but I must assume at some point she was deeply wounded. Whatever, for those low cut bodices, I could forgive her anything.
