Born a Burden

Born a Burden

A Poem by Woja

Is it because we are cut from the same cloth?
Reflections of you, the innocence lost.
Inflicted upon another just not to feel.
By acknowledging the pain it becomes real.
With out a warning always being spanked.
Filling you with confusion, anger and hate.
So insecure nothing good enough.
It wasn't your fault but I'm not the one.

To have your protector inflicting abuse.
I know you are hurting but I'm hurting too.
I was born a burden just as you are.
The same scars are etched in my heart.
I never hurt you, I'm not the one.
I only gave you unconditional love.
I am trying to understand why you did what you did.
I'll never forget but I have to forgive.
