To Chase a Shadow

To Chase a Shadow

A Poem by Wolfie
"

(2009)

"

Disrobe my thoughts, let fall the veil, my shield.

You touch my head, hands in prayer

To take away my pain, a loving gesture.

You mean nothing by it. By it you mean everything.

I sit feeling like only a child; wanting,

Watching as you hold her hand and chuckle softly like an idiot

And she seems to me like a goddess with her smile which so imprisons you.

I am not saddened by her existence, rather by my inexistence.

You subdued, she pursued, and I refuse

To chase a shadow.

About
Hectic changes make for infrequent writing in my case, so for now I'll be reviewing more than I write (and probably "lurking" more than I comment). As for being a critic, I like to think that I'm happ.. more..
