HumanityA Poem by Charlie McEwan
Life's lessons so hard to learn but so valuable in understanding
The truth we have to bear The strength to be so vulnerable, yet so strong in our cause. The might to fight and not crumble at the hurdles, to tear down those walls and break through the defenses with theories so worn. The defenses we use are pathetic in it's path to be stronger of will and not so led like sheep. As we stand victorious on the mountain pass We stumble on and not slide down. We rise above it and fight humanity, Sword for sword and punch for punch We fight and shout Never to be heard. But the influence we have is mightier than the blade The words we speak cutting like knives. The truth burning deep, branding us into being. The will to succeed more powerful than mindless retorts. Sharp words laced with hate The power of humans. So, tell me now, is it too late? Have you been disgraced?
