The Night Storm

A poem on the storm raging out my window one night.

 

The night became a torment of

Thunderous boom, lightening

Struck the tree close by,

 making It whimpers in defeat.

 

The winds raging in protest,

as the shutters shook. The rain

beats down the window panes, as

the glass shakes in fear of breaking.

 

The house shook in fear

of falling apart. I huddle

on the couch hugging the dog,

covered in the old quilt.

 

The night storm keeps raging

In the early morning dew.
