Tears fall, Strong will I be

Tears fall, Strong will I be

A Poem by Wolfwind

Some better, some worse

Nocturnal time drifting by

The clock hanging every tick tock

Thinking turning with memory

Memories swirling with queries

The heart…the pain, slow and throbbing

The images return

Across the screen of the past

Happy thoughts

Joy

Laughter

A gentle touch

Dripping, rolling

Seeping into blankets close

The tears always come

The heart compressing

The pain spikes

The mind quiets

The knowing

Of broken

..

Onto calm

Time reflects

I’m not the only one hurting

Onto quiet

Eye gaze distant

I hear it within her voice

Onto reality

Head down low

I pray…

“Please keep her safe, that desert Jewel

Who you know, I still do love.

Protect her from the rage of hate

That in the past would shove.

Please be a guide upon her journey

Be a bright ray of light for her to see.

Remind her too, if she feels broken

I’ve got her glue with me.”

Daylight breaks and God’s light shines

I hope that my prayer’s been heard

And the pain I feel

I know I will endure

For that is what she needs

Patience to listen

Love that doesn’t cease

Understanding the calm

A time…

Yet to be written

This a very powerful, beautiful piece, Aaron! I have felt this many times, and you captured it with a strong, harmonious beat. Great rhyme and pattern, too. I noticed the way you wove rhyme into the last stanzas... and how it's missing in the first ones. But the last ones are the most powerful ones, in my opinion, so very well done!
Great job, keep up the wonderful work!

P.S. I love, love, love the way you use wolves in your poem. Wolves are amazing, noble, and wise creatures.

One of the most beautiful displays of selflessness I have seen in some time. I think you captured a moment of true divinity within this. It's describes a moment of selfless clarity.. it's sincere and honest. I personally don't really comment here, this isn't really my place.. but I happened to stumble on this piece and found it utterly gorgeous.

Very moving poem. The pain comes through your words, very powerfully yet sort of quiet as well, thus the deep sadness in this as also. I really like this.

The emotions flowing within spoke of pain and want and needing of a listening ear. The way the words rushed down the page was incredible, and fulfilling of all aspects in writing! Thank you for the share of this artwork!
