Shoving An Arrow Up Cupid's Rhymes With Glass

Shoving An Arrow Up Cupid's Rhymes With Glass

A Poem by Wooddawg

I've looked the devil in her eyes

Fell for her touch and believed in her lies

Still no anwser to the question why?

Makes me wonder why I still try.

What is left for a romantic to do?

Should I throw in the towel and say f**k you?

So many times I lowered my sheild

When I should have noticed the sign that reads yeild.

Gullible is my crime

It's safe to say I've served my time.

Better I should have known

Am I the only one that feels alone?

Love is fake, love is real

Ain't no drink that'll make it heal.

Cupid is a theif, your heart he'll steal

So at my own throne, I will kneel!

A very uplifting, but at the same dark poem. An interesting turn of events described here, but thankful in a fresh and exiting manner, which differs to other poems on here written with the same topic in mind. A gorgeous poem, would make an amazing song.
