Dragon Tales

Once upon a time in Paris France, lived a little girl. Her name was Pricilla. Her family is well to do, her dad Henry is a bank president. And her mom, Sally is an interior decorator. Pricilla has no friends, but her friend Sal.

Pricilla and Sal would play together every day, having tea parties, playing dress up, playing in the yard making forts. Pricilla is an ordinary child, with a wild imagination. You see Sal was only visible to her, but he didn’t look like a human. He was a dragon. Not your typical dragon, he could talk and tell stories. He would tell Pricilla stories about the high seas, and the pirates that he had seen.  Sal had been to several countries all around the world, he had seen many fancy unique things. Pricilla was so intrigued by Sal’s stories, she dreamed of the days she could travel the world like Sal. He was a positive friendly dragon. Sal enjoyed spending time with Pricilla, and wished they could be friends forever. But, Sal knew that Pricilla would one day grow up and he would fade away.

.  One day while she and Sal were playing, her mommy had called her in for dinner.  She had asked her mommy if Sal could join them, Sally asked Pricilla who Sal was. Pricilla said that he is her friend. Sally said “Sure that would be fine, when shall I expect him?” Pricilla exclaimed that he was already there. Sally said, “I don’t see him, where is he?”

Pricilla said, “He’s sitting next to me”. Sally continued and said to her “there is nobody next to you.  It was then clear to Pricilla that she was the only person able to see Sal, and she questioned Sal. Why is it that I am only able to see you? Sal told her, that she had made him up in her mind so that she would not be alone. Being a child she shrugged it off and continued to believe Sal was her best and only friend, and she loved him.

Well several years had past Pricilla now 18, she had forgotten all about Sal. She went on to college and got her masters degree in Psychology she learned a lot about her early years as a child, that Sal was an imaginary friend that she drummed up because she didn’t have any friends to play with. Pricilla went on to marry and have her own family now being 25 with two children Peter and Sarah. She would tell them about her child hood, and all of the fun times she had spent with Sal and all of the stories Sal had shared with her. Low and behold Sarah told Pricilla she had a friend named Sal that she liked to play with. Pricilla was stunned! She asked herself if it could be the same Sal that she was friends with. Then Sarah told her that it was a little girl that she goes to school with. Pricilla was happy it wasn’t the same Sal, she wanted better for her daughter. She wants Sarah to have a better childhood then she had.  Pricilla got to travel the world with her career. She became a psychologist with the armed forces. And she was able to bring her family with her on the trips. The stories Sal had told her weren’t as great as the real adventure. She enjoys sharing this journey with her family. And they all lived happily ever after.
