~ We Walked Together

 

My heart beats, and speaks

Like your breath does with great

Inhales next to me when we walk together

The sound of your calm is exhilarating

 

I couldn’t ride on your back,

By feeling your weakness even as your pride

And wanted to help you by illuminate

The weight of love, in footsteps of peace

 

I feel the weak of your heart,

And these blinking eyes 

You watch me with

Make me intensely sad after

I shared a long journey with you

 

Now you're going to leave me my love,

By our silver stream, filled with grass 

Where we used to see spring coming

In all her pomp to flourish

 

For long were you my loyal mate,

I hear you breathe softer, slower

When you lie though, and death

Creeps into your eyes

 

You intelligent look, turns around in fear,

Then at rest, where your heart

And breath softly stops

My head rests on your chest,

My tears roll on your white coat

To merge with a peaceful death

 

We walked together, 

And as we breathed, and lived

We died on the same day,

Lived and died on the same day…

I like it a lot, it's really sad, but yet full of beautiful... I never really go through a loss of pets before... But I can feel the pain, and I think this feeling can be used on friendships as well.. EVen though friends maybe not by our side, or even not here anymore, friends will always be connected... This poem makes my eyes wet... So touching....

[Poetic Beauty]

When someone we love greatly moves on to the next existence without us a piece of us goes with them. We have a whole in our heart that remains. It doesn't matter if they are a mate, a family member or a dear friend. Those holes show that we have the ability to love and the memories that remain are bittersweet. In time the pain subsides a little. This piece was done eloquently in a slow pace as one like this should be. It is peaceful and truly sad with the departing. The details are amazing and the visual allowed me to picture a couple by a river side as he is saying his good byes being held with comfort and care. Stunning write.
