~ Sonnet of the Past

I sing a song to the past

Whirling, thinking back

Beautiful memories in azure

A profound long stroll

My mind at rest from the days

Domed with grief

Where nothing and no one sees me

While I cheerfully stray

In my back room I see you standing

Your face is faded, but still you look surprised

You're wearing a blue shirt

You write with your quill on papyrus

Standing and frowning you think about  all around you

You needed more inspiration; and you found it.

Beautiful picture...... I LOVE eyes. Reading this poem, by you, I am wondering a bit of a jealous note to imagine if you are describing what another means to you, to be this muse you find comforting to rediscover, possibly daily!! Dreams are born, poems are exacted to paper, and your gorgeous touch is immeasurable in the sense that it does not perform as an equal to others on this site for me. I have been to a few "poem readings" and couldn't imagine a better place to fall asleep. If I were to be so lucky as to arrive to YOUR reading, I would silently fall within myself and absorb all that I could when your voice brings to life what already sounds amazing to me!! I almost wrote "I Love You". lol Beautiful poem, Elisa. xoxo -Mark

so beautiful! view and thoughts from zen simple style, observation of the past, where we should remember only happiness...even lost. I liked the last verses, where i imagine the man 'frawning" :)

I sense you strolling proudly through these lines, defiant and introverted. The subtlety is sublime and I truly enjoyed the read. Thank you.

Thanks a lot Steven :)
Hindsight is 20/20, the past teaches us in every way what to expect in the future, then we work on ourselves so that the same mistakes do not get repeated . :) lovely write Ellie, that pic reminds me of something funny, you are a wonder, ( hug)
