~ Like a Raven

She isn’t afraid of what will come

In darker realms of pain in life

She spreads her black inked wings

To fly into savoury skies

Her visions cannot stop

For her mind so often wants

As she knows how to sing her hymn

From frozen chest, into warm lands

Ah yes... I dive right back in and I am greeted with greatness once more! Two stanzas, like the two wings of the raven. Short, sharp words, like those eyes that can see so clearly far into the horizon... These inked wings will spread words to foreign regions of the world. Words to bring hope in a time of pain. Unable to rest, still, as the raven must travel even further... the hymn is not done, and more ravens must answer her call...

Another great one Elisa, thanks for sharing! :)

short yet symbolic. Its starts off a dark undertone but just love the last part for it painted a bright light of hope! Well done my dearest friend.

Thanks a lot my dear :))
The last line just grabbed me! I imagine the pain of a mother or the sensative heart of any woman. How much more they must "feel" the hurts in this world. Yet we find that from these "frozen" breasts, the song that warms the whole world is sung. A wonderful veiw of the Raven. The pain of death brings with it's ghostly wings the song of promise. A lot of symbolic posture in this write.
Thnak you for the enjoyable read.

Thank you very much Michael, good to see you by!
Many portray ravens as passive and indifferent. As they were guides and knowledgeable seers, maybe such a portrayal is accurate. Still, your portrayal paints the raven as being enthusiastic, ready to sing her hymn wherever the wind takes her. It is a nice break from the typical silent, brooding and, sometimes, evil harbingers of omen. The visual quality here is very nice, especially the very last line. Short and sweet, very nicely done. It is a pleasure reading your work.

And welcome back :)

The Raven is a symbol for many things. I like the way you describe here in this piece. The details are outstanding and it is worded with precision.

Sometimes, the Raven says, "Evermore!"
A stately flight soaring with meaning.
