And when I saw, there was no tide,

But tranquility of my lake,

I realized, there is no need,

For nothing there is need -

All I have, is all in me,

The silence tells enough,

But you are there;

And so am I,

Thus quietly we speak...

This piece is wonderful, Elisa. It is small, it is simple, but it is poignant and it speaks so heavily to the heart. I love it. I can sit there and be there by that lake whilst I read this piece, and I truly appreciate the talent it takes in order to do that. =]

The need anyone but yourself, is not having the confidence one needs. Also, I love how you kept them there but quiet. You are a gorgeous writer and you have so much to proud of. Bravo!! :)

Thank you so much Christian, for your words, :) they always make me happy! my friend. :)
This is so short, yet you can contain so much beauty in such few verses. I felt the tranquility and peace through the poem and it was consistent in word choice and placement. The ending of the poem does not lose any of the power as the last couple verses, and that I found very nice. Great job, Elisa.

Thank you very much Daniela. :)
"quietly we speak..."
Yes Eli, this is a form of serenity. Knowing something if not everything... Trusting in the reality and resting in the dreams.
Oh how I have missed your mysterious mind and your open heart.
Lovely poem Eli!

Thank you so much Scott. :) always ....
Beautiful as always Elisa, something that I need to work on these days, finding the peace that resides within yourself. Not letting the chaos in to rock your world. Perhaps even finding those precious few that can be with you in those serene moments and not bring the baggage and drama of life with them... hmmm. Perfect poem for me today. Seems like I aways leave your work with new realizations, and for that I thank you! Much love sent your way beautiful! xoxo

Ah! I love this. Reminds me so much of Ella Wheeler Wilcox's poem, "One Ship Sails East." Specifically the last stanza: "Like the winds of the sea
are the waves of time,
as we journey through life.
'Tis the set of the soul
that determines the goal,
and not the calm or the strife."
Simply beautiful, my dear.
