~ A real goddes of fire...

~ Hestia

Her warm hearth burned cozy

The sparks crackled and shriveled the wood

In reach of the arch of the ether

Her heart burned also eagerly

And the sparks danced in circles

She didn't need to provoke

But all the good happened around her invisible

Power of being her pure self

Honored by Zeus as a sister

Her silent wisdom was to reach the equal

They brought offers to her, in sign of respect

Above her aura to rest before or after a travel

Her warmth welcomed one, in good and bad conditions

Evolved grace by her simple power of just

Being heavenly, also loved and honored by the folk

Her large insight in architecture and her abstract visions

Builded and layed in the arms of Prytaneions realm

Where men gave her the eternal flame and kept her warm

But even how hard they tried to enter her spirit, or soul

She made a well based humbled promise

To be and remain pure as she was forever

This poem is so wonderful :) It's even better for me because I have just taken up a new hobby: researching Greek myhtology, Roman mythology--and Norse, too. It is all so fascinating! I read all about Hestia (or Vesta) and this whole poem struck me as really cool.

sigh...the music...the story you shared...wow! The power and beauty of a mesmerizing woman...you pen this so well. Enigmatic...almost scriptural. I'm at loss for words. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent. X

Those who have compassion in the heart will be respected by those who have a heart of gold... not only a delightful poem but a great education in Greek mythology.

This stays really true to her mythological counterpart, I know classmates in Latin who wish this was at their creative disposal. So A+ 100% Goodjob.

Greek Mythology, this is totally different kind of write from you, but nonetheless it was very enjoyable read. And i like the last stanza seems to sum up the whole poem and what your main theme is. Awesome job, Elisa
