Surrounded Yet All Alone

Surrounded Yet All Alone

A Poem by

She bows her head in shame.
Every tear is all the same.
She asks herself, "Whose to blame?"
She plays alone in this silly game.
Her thoughts become untamed,
Her body burns with heat inflamed.

All the tears he has shed,
Have turned his cheeks red.
He lies alone in bed,
Begging the chill to spread.
His body has bled and bled.
He fades into the world of the dead.

Surrounded yet all alone.
We're left to deal on our own.
Our hearts have turned to stone,
From all of those we have shown
Who choose to let us battle this alone.
