You're the One

You're the One

A Poem by

My heart beats for you,
But you're the one who broke me.
My lungs breathe for you,
But you're the one who took my last breath.
My eyes search for you,
But you're the one who blinded me.
My body aches for you,
But you're the one who killed me.

I'm running, running, running,
From you're stinging swing.
I'm being chased into an endless dream
Where you're no longer the reasons for my screams.

I'm broken and bruised,
I feel nothing but used,
My world of abused,
While you're amused.

I'm crying, crying, crying,
While your fists are flying.
Inside I'm dying,
No longer trying.

Author's Note

Yes, a poem about domestic violence. Lovely, isn't it?
