Owner of My Heart

Owner of My Heart

A Poem by

I've waited far too long.
All along I've been so wrong.
I can't run from you anymore.
You're all I've ever cared for.
Oh baby, you I do adore,
A beauty like never before.

Whisper to me, make me believe
That you will never  leave.
I'm hiding away, don't make me come out.
The pain my release brings about.
This is my favorite place to hide,
Away from the easy going tide.
I'm not like you; I can't adapt.
Here is where my heart is trapped.
I've stopped and stared,
For that pain I was unprepared.

I've waited far too long.
All along I've been so wrong.
I can't run from you anymore.
You're all I've ever cared for.
Oh baby, you I do adore,
A beauty like never before.

It was you, that simple boy running around,
Who caused my heart to burn this break down.
I ran away, afraid of the pain,
But my heart forced me to remain.
I can't hide from the owner of my heart,
Because of you I'm torn apart.
Don't pull me away from my hiding place,
Leave me alone in this space-less grace.
But when you leave,
I'll no longer believe.

I've waited far too long.
All along I've been so wrong.
I can't run from you anymore.
You're all I've ever cared for.
Oh baby, you I do adore,
A beauty like never before.
