I'm Sorry

I'm Sorry

A Poem by

"I'm sorry, father, for all the late night cries."
I wrote as I wiped my tear-stricken eyes.
"The broken hearts and pointless tries,
This is God's painful punishment of surprise."
(Chorus)
She hugs me tight as if I'm a vase that can shatter.
Treat my skin like a canvas, the blood will splatter.
I'm a masterpiece of mark after mark, slice after slice.
The red clouds my world in a scarlet rain of liquid ice.
"Mommy, can't you tell? I'm swollen with depressions spell,"
I wrote while I danced alone in the bottom of this empty well.
"I'm alone in this world; no one hears my screams.
I'm lonely in my endless nightmare dreams."
(Chorus)
She hugs me tight as if I'm a vase that can shatter.
Treat my skin like a canvas, the blood will splatter.
I'm a masterpiece of mark after mark, slice after slice.
The red clouds my world in a scarlet rain of liquid ice.
"What's here for me, a miserable life?"
I wrote on that paper while I held my sharpest knife.
"The only escape is the pressure on my wrist,
as if an angle has come and saved me with a kiss."
(Chorus)
She hugs me tight as if I'm a vase that can shatter.
Treat my skin like a canvas, the blood will splatter.
I'm a masterpiece of mark after mark, slice after slice.
The red clouds my world in a scarlet rain of liquid ice.
"I just needed my hand held, someone to care for me."
I penned with shaking hands, tears running free.
"My body is damaged, my heart is fried.
Everything inside me has dried up and died."
(Chorus)
She hugs me tight as if I'm a vase that can shatter.
Treat my skin like a canvas, the blood will splatter.
I'm a masterpiece of mark after mark, slice after slice.
The red clouds my world in a scarlet rain of liquid ice.
"Tell my friends I've given up, I can't keep going."
Those written words held a secret knowing.
"I was frowning while they were smiling, glowing.
I couldn't take it, my sadness kept on growing."
"Mother, Father, you know I love you, but I have to leave."
Were the last words I wrote before I left my family to grieve.

A very sad poem. The poem had a deep tone of sadness. Saying goodbye is never easy. Suicide is a secret killer. I lost tho brothers to suicide. They went to their rooms and hung themselves. No notes or reason. One left a child wanting to know about her father now. I hope the poem is fiction my young friend. Thank you for sharing the powerful and deep words.
