Perfect Superstar

Perfect Superstar

A Poem by

Every love song is the same,
Sung to show the love proclaimed.
This feeling is fortune and fame,
The spot light sets my heart aflame.

I see his eyes glowing out in the audience as I sing my song.
Everyone is singing along but there's something wrong.
There's no sounds around us, it's just us two.
There's no microphone, no back stage crew,
The song I'm singing is just for you.

I'll rhyme for you all the reasons you make me smile,
Even with all the pain it'll still be worthwhile.
I may not be the perfect superstar,
But we're both messed up and a bit bizarre.

I promise I'll write our love song til the day I die.
We'll fly so high until we touch the sky.
I'll hold your hand until my last goodbye,
You'll always be an image in my mind's eye.
