How Could You Have Done This to Me?

How Could You Have Done This to Me?

A Poem by

Love is cruel to me,
Ripping away my dreams
and imagined sanity.

I miss the days when I was by your side.
The promises of forever have sadly died.
I miss the cold winter nights with your hand in mine,
Waking up in the morning with our legs entwined.
How could you have done this to me?

Remember the days we spend planning what could have been?
You always promised through hard times our love would win.
Look at us now, two broken people in a world of lies.
Our fallen love came as a dreadful surprise.
How could you have done this to me?

All my life I've been waiting for that smile,
The one that would make the waiting worth while.
I never knew it was possible to be broken by that love.
Now you're gone, and you'll never be replaced.
How could you have done this to me?
