A New Disease

A New Disease

A Poem by

A new disease has swept the population.
It can neither be solved nor written in a chemical equation.
It's symptoms can often be more agonizing than a limb dislocation.
The worst part is the lack of useful medication.

As we get older it seems to be the main topic of conversation.
This disease appears to lead the heart to further exploration.
Everyone I know has scummed to this new abomination.
Am I the only one who sees the horror of this in my generation?

This disease is ruling over us with it's influential intent.
It does not kill, at least not in the physical sense.
This viral sickness wraps around minds with a foggy scent.
With this illness, there's no such thing as common sense.

This disease is an emotion we know as love.
Something no one is really worthy of.
