What is?

What is?

A Poem by Phillip Heidler

Here I am
All alone in this place

Stuck in a jam
Trying to find this one's face

Looking high
Looking low
Looking left
Looking right

Still no luck
On finding that one's face

I sat down to think
On if looking was good

I was thinking and not one blink
Or putting on my hood

Finding that face would be hard
Only because it was dark in my place

The place wasn't as big as a yard
But it was my safe place

Where I can be me
Not who someone wants me to be

So why would I want to find one's face
And leave such a blissful place

Maybe because I want to feel
What I have been longing all along

It was love and happiness
That is all

So I turn on the light
And open the door

Now I see that face

The one who makes my day
