Don't Tell Me I'm Bad

Don't Tell Me I'm Bad

A Poem by WriterWriter
"

How we grapple with phone addiction

"

Doctor, doctor,

cure my phone addiction

Give me pills

Inject something into my nerves

Don’t take away

my darling

Don’t tell me to stop

It gives me happiness

talking to my friends online

posting a nasty comment

behind closed doors

Medicate me, doctor

Don’t tell me I am bad

Don’t tell me to stop

I love the high-definition display

Its sharpness

Its realist pictures

How it blinks with a new

notification

Don’t take away

my darling

Don’t tell me to stop

Cure me

Rid me of my addiction

Tell me I am good

But, never tell I’m addicted

Wonderful poem about the new sickness that faces society, and one that no one knows what to do about. I like all the descriptions and repetition you utilized. Excellent work!

Super relevant now! Many of us don't even recognize this since it is socially acceptable. WHO (World Health Organization) just declared a new disease, Gaming Disorder- along the same lines as your subject matter. Thank you for sharing and good luck to us all!
