Do You Hear the Children?

Do You Hear the Children?

A Poem by Erin

Do you hear the children shout?

Far in the distance as they run about.

I hear their shouts of joy.

Do you hear the children sing?

Coming closer as they run.

I hear their feet pounding the gravel.

Do you hear the children play?
Here beside us, in the grave.

I hear their forever laughter.

Voices of God’s new angels.

A sad poem. Sad when children become Angels. I like the set-up of questions leading to a strong ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poem.
