A challenging poem to write

 

Hopelessly fantasizing in my mind

Carelessly letting my thoughts wander

Freely weaving back to a time

Of days gone by in dreams I ponder

 

Of days gone by in dreams I ponder

Those happy times in endless ways

When merry visions were soft and sweet

A child drifting through life’s maze

this was superb! the rhyme and meter were executed masterfully. the first stanza had smiling ear to ear, a smile that only broadened as i read on. the repetitions worked really well as well. it is incredibly intelligent. as for the themes explored here, these are thoughts i think about a lot. my childhood was a happy one. and how i now long for its simplicity. things only got worse and worse as i grew, and so these memories are cherished the moreso.
