Hope I. Winter Lights

Hope I. Winter Lights

A Poem by Wunderlich
"

The first part of Hope.

"

The winter lights retreating back within
The hollowed trees that forgot how to sing
The yellow, the red, the sparkling gold
Push their way through to take control

This forceful assumption of control
Is welcomed in this hollowed soul
This barren prairie begs for life
A grasp at the light in the dark

Flattened and cold in the dark
This shaved mountain shivers silently
Presented a chance of opportunity
To stand tall like it did long ago

Hope was once prevalent long ago
The clouds were never burdened down
In this day of age snow is expected
A greeting from the sun is welcomed

This greeting from the sun is welcomed
