Perfidious Memories

Perfidious Memories

A Poem by Wunderlich
"

Wrote this a while ago. I was standing around a pine tree smoking a bowl when I came up with this.

"
Underneath this pine tree
This canopy of memories
I stand despondent

Never was a shadow laid
Upon my uplifted head
I stood in bliss

Now spread across the grass
Filling my footprints
A shadow is cast

The needles that once kept me warm
Now prick my vulnerable skin
Tenaciously believing that it would never happen
Has left me more distraught than I ever thought imaginable

this really captures the way that times change and things from your past aren't as great as you remembered them when you go back to them years later. it's simple but deep. props that you thought of it high: i always think of poems and stories when i smoke but i never write them down and then i forget them. anyway, great piece

It is a great poem. I find it really interesting that you thought of this under a three. In any case great job!!
