About Face

About Face

A Poem by Wynter Ignatius
"

Once I called a guy a friend but after the divorce started he suddenly took an about face when in regards to me without warning or reason. This was to him though I'm sure he didn't care.

"
No overlord
No comment better or worse
For nearly a dozen months
Yet one loud-mouth
Vulgar and disrespectful
Find you out from behind
Desk you toil at
Day in, day out
The past suddenly tackled
Issues never broached
Brought to surface
Attention now warranted
Two-faced smile
Some transgression on my part
Yet praise within the same breath
Your points seen by me
Yet issues better dealt with
In timely fashion
Not many moons later
Actions of mine need coaching
So why the wait
Why let things build
If they are unwanted
Silent voices get little heed
My understanding of my role
Settled for over a year
Suddenly challenged
Questioned in motive
Rules to be followed
Yet I am to ignore them
To observe and report
The task you sent me on
Now with less reporting wanted
Confused, I will comply
Just don't complain
When things go wrong
I'll do my about-face
