Standing in the Rain

Standing in the Rain

A Poem by Wynter Ignatius
"

I enjoy a good storm and rainy days unlike many people - they center and calm me.

"

Washed by a cool breeze
By tears not my own
Nor falling for me
Or because of I alone
Yet so profoundly intense

Joy finds me smiling
Smirk aglow upon me
Drenched yet ecstatic
For a torrential outpouring
Standing here on my own

Deep in thought
Soul uplifted and free
Thoughts cooled and streamlined
Finding my piece of peace
Shadows pour from lightning

Forked castings of light
Devil's diatribe splitting
Broken symphony crashes
Stoic in soaked resolve
Moment stilled in time

Just breathing freedom's reprieve
Undeterred by rolling clouds
Always seeing blackened comfort
Storm a refuge from banality
Nature's tune striking the chord

In most resilient of hearts

So you will find me
Standing in the rain
Where I feel no pain
Only an inexorable gain
For today is not my bane
