Childrens Fantasies

Childrens Fantasies

A Poem by Ameli
"

To have the innocence of children again...sounds nice.

"

We used to stay up all night long

Planning out our dreams.

Everytime you'd promise me

You would never leave.

I was the only one in your sight

And likewise you in mine.

Us against the world

Our love was that of rebel teens.

Your hand in mine and mine in yours

We were an unstoppable team.

Once upon a time

We used to call it love,

But happily ever after

Will never come for us.

We used to stay up all night long

Planning out our dreams.

But that was then and this is now

Our dreams were never anything more than childrens' fantasies.

Reminds me of a romance I had in middle school. Not like anything in middle school was ever to be taken seriously.
