This Night Isn't Mine

This Night Isn't Mine

A Poem by Xander West

This Night Isn't Mine

What are the chances,

Of two very lonely hearts,

Meeting in this strange land,

Eyes meet and hearts start dancing,

Something beautiful is at a start,

But they never get to see the end.

So much hope,

So little time,

Day turns to night,

And this night isn't mine.

The night grows cold and damp,

As hope floats away,

And your left all alone,

With nothing but time in the way.

So many thoughts running through my head,

What could have been,

Precious moments we could have shared,

So many things left unsaid.

But life goes on,

And time passes you by,

But no good thing ever dies,

So you hold on to hope,

That you will meet again one day.

So little hope,

So much time,

Day turns to night,

And this night isn't mine
