How to Say Bye

How to Say Bye

A Poem by Xander West

How to Say Bye

Lost in a world of dark raging seas,

Stumbling blindly through pitch black,

Knowing all that remains is a shell of me,

Wondering how do I ever find a way back.

All voices drowned out by howling wind,

No sunlight due to the pounding storms,

A dark pain that's seems to have no end,

I simply wish to be resting in warm arms.

How to say bye to love that doesn't die,

In all the pain that surrounds me every day,

I only see beauty when thinking of your eyes,

How to say bye if my heart holds on in every way.

So I stumble through this eternal night,

Holding on to a love that captured my heart,

Holding on to the only thing I knew was right,

Trying to keep my heart from splitting apart.

I fall asleep every lonely night holding you,

But I always wake up each morning all alone,

My heart holding on to a love that was true,

Every day repeating my same ole sad song.

How to say bye to a love that doesn't die,

When you know it will shatter you into pieces,

How to say bye to a love and simply cry

When it's all of her your tender heart misses.
