Such is Love

Such is Love

A Poem by Xander West

Such is Love

To have a love of the deepest depth,
To feel the passion of fairy-tale fantasy, Only to lose it all within one heart-wrenching breath,
Cast into endless pits of tearful agony.

A love no words could capture entirely,
A woman adored for all her imperfect perfections,
Aflamed of desires shone to me so fiery,
Forever lost save for my mere words of depression.

Searching in futile to describe such beauty,
Woeful words smeared by ever falling tears,
A love forever felt yet a face I no longer see,
Losing our memories my darkest internal fear.

How to express a love written in stars above,
Could words ever capture the depths of passion,
All words fall short while comparing our love,
Yet the tear-soak pages work best I imagine.

So on I pursue in hunt to write of you,
Lost upon pages of a passionate tale,
Forever cast aside writing of a love so true,
Knowing to capture your beauty words shall fail.
