Let Go

Let Go

A Poem by Xavier Mathis McIntosh
"

Can't escape mind's cell and now I have to pay...

"
It seems to me the darkness escapes through a pen in hand,
Music on my ears and thinking of the damned,
I feel like a criminal, a man who never looks back,
Only forward, and I see my soul turn to black.
Gone insane, never to be the same, the help is unjust, lock me up, and maybe I can find love.
Imprisoned in my mind's cell, a tone from the bells,
Hurts my ear, the church gives me fear, I can tell I'm evil,
Because I am below earth's steeple.
Fire burns in places it never should, and ice freezes the warm that I used to move,
Levels in which make a man a man, I have achieved and fell, climbing to the top again, and being pushed down, we all live greedily, less of me, more for you,
My creativity is drowned by my views.
The pain, it stings, falling rain it brings...
Clear the skies, and time to fly,
The feelings that I never show, I must let go...

I like the flow of the poem
It's really good to how it shows how it feels
to be Trapped. !

All great writers are trapped within the prison of their own conscienceness--this really illustrated that really well. Nice work!

Xavier, good writing! Are you sure you're only 15? Quite a topic for your age group and you a fine job of articulating it. Impressed - keep it up!
