"Murder, You Embrace"

"Murder, You Embrace"

A Poem by Sarah Ahmed

In a world of only violence, I ask
Do you dare come out without your colored mask?
Or so a piece of cloth you put around your face
To hide your identity, murder, you embrace

You're seen by your enemies, you're painfully shot
You'll lose your life, or all you've got
You're in with no exit, you'll hide till you're caught
Still conscious? Don't worry, you're done by your thought

Open your eyes, I define simple things
You're nothing to them, just a puppet on strings
Brave and fearless, to love is to kill
Lost in victory, death is a thrill

Traumatizing and terrorizing
Cowardly threatening and victimizing
Innocent people, because life is a game
You're forgotten in death, they don't honour your name

Before dead eyes, your cold life flashes
Silent alone, you fear to ashes
Though with all, a savage is strong
When seconds from death, you'll know the wrong

You'll continue to be loyal and fight for your gang
Until you carelessly hear that fearful loud bang
The raging sharp bullet through your thoughtless head
Surrounded by red, you're on the ground dead

Once again a great poem! Rhyme and rhythm was awesome! It took me a minute to figure out what it was about (like who was aimed at) but then the word "gang" at the end made it all clear! Nice work!

*****^^^^^^it would also be a nice public service announcement ;)
