For My Lover Unknown

For My Lover Unknown

A Poem by Paul Pruett

I look to see you pass by.

Yet you are not there.

I dream of holding you in the firelight.

And my hands grasp nothing.

I long to make love to you as the night deepens.

Have we met?

Or is that corner unturned?

Many times I have seen you in others.

Only to fail and fail and fail again.

Call my name and I will answer.

Come to me and end my sentence.

Love me and I will return it to you 10 fold.

Brilliant, something many people can relate to. Love found and lost, love given, not returned. Life is all about hardships, pain and learning. Grasp and hold on tight to the good and stop waiting for the bad. Just wait. Wait for what you wish for.
