How would it be?

How would it be?

A Poem by Yashadini A.

Oh tell me,
How would it be,
If Hitler cajoled Gandhi on guns,
And secretly handed him some.
Oh tell me,
How would it be,
If Shakespeare despised women,
And never penned a sonnet for one.
Oh won't you tell me,
How would it be,
If Sullivan gave up on Keller,
At the break of dawn.
How would it be?
If the prison roofs were to forever umbrella Mandela,
From the pouring rain and the blazing sun.
Please tell me,
How would it be,
If the great duo Pele and Maradona,
Were never born.
If the bond between Beethoven's magical fingers,
And the 88 keys was never strong.
Oh let me tell you,
For time is a jealous company,
Peace would have never had its' say,
Love would have never come our way,
Inspiration to succeed would have been caged,
Freedom would have gone to waste,
Football and music,
The saviour of our potholed humanity,
Would have never been the same.
