Black and Knee-Deep

Black and Knee-Deep

A Poem by Initium

I've got this heart that's black,
and knee-deep.
I've got this thought, so bleak,
and running from me.
I've got this chill, breaking barriers,
crushing truths.
I've got this eye on you,
only making me a sleuth.
And I don't care to rhyme,
but a poem without is nowadays considered a crime.
Lastly, I don't care to direct this message, this letter,
to you, to make you feel better;
Because I don't give a damn.
