meltdown Earth

A Poem by yelena

There are no passengers on Spaceship Earth.  We are all crew.  (Marshall McLuhan)

these
black
fragmented
flowers

are
doomed
with
fatal
dripping
of acid
sleet

blasphemous-ecstatic

ghosts
follow
the blaze
in burial
obscene
lunatic
parades

plunging
tenuous
faces
into
the swallowing
soil

consuming
scream
rage
lava
lust
fear

the
turbulent
land
speaks
in penumbral
ache

her song
choked

her lungs
faltering

her arteries
torn

deceivingly
anaesthetic
through
a never
quenched

impending
flame

interlaced
with
placebo
slumber

only
to keep
her
alive
for
devastating
torments

the ocean
whispers

save
