A Poem by Yellowpinch

A ring of petals on the ground
Oleander's splendour bows her head
Summer is on its way out
though it scarcely flexed its muscles
in a land once parched but now refreshed.

Cat walks by, sleek but unfriendly
though it has a bell, and a home somewhere.
Magpie comes to say good morning
but leaves today without a conversation.

Come autumn, come lovely, in the cool of the morning -
a yellow leaf falls from the walnut tree -
It's time for a new season with new hope and new beauty.
It's time - come autumn, come lovely, to me.

You are welcome mate...:)......
I don't find it cliche at all, because you say things in a new, refreshing way.

Thanks for the encouragement, Marie
I wouldn't know about cliche having never experienced autumn. But I do like the picture painted by the yellow falling leaf. I would love to know more about how an autumn day feels on the skin or smells. I did enjoy this :-)

Thanks Hellen. I'll be concentrating this autumn to try and capture the smell and feel on the skin!
