Looking Up

After suffering from depression, a girl finds hope in her talent.

When the sky had turned black,

When her life had turned bleak,

When her depression has reached its highest peak,

She looked up.

 

And when she looked up she saw the bluest of skies,

So she began to paint the beauty before her eyes.

And when she was done she began to smile,

Which was something she had not done in a while.

 

"Don't  it look nice out today," she said,

"Ain't the sky so blue today,

"It seems to just wash my sadness away--

"Ain't life lookin' up."

I wrote this when I was done with my science exam, so naturally it is not my best works of art.

I think it's neat how you used different text coloring to emphasize the meaning of this poem. I also think it gives the poem a more whimsical feel, when you read and look at the different colors. Adds a little more impact, which I really like. I'm used to websites without the coloring option, so this is interesting/new for me! I might have to try it out sometime. Great work! =)
