The Eruption of Chaos

The Eruption of Chaos

A Poem by Viki Rachel

The ground is shaking beneath us,

Splitting apart,

Where do we run if the buildings are falling?

And they must fall on someone, but who?

"It begins."

Panic, cries, tears. Screams.

I hear the screams of the children;

At first they are few, but then they become many.

A sorrow spreading faster then the fire.

"We are dying."

Where have the stars gone?

They left us too.

They realized the effort was futile.

We all are equal, we breathe in the smoke.

"No-one will come."

The monarchs aren't being saved by anyone either.

Grilled salmon the poor fishers fed them rests in their bellies.

They have fed off the poor too long.

It's too late.

"No-one will be left."

Author's Note

Viki Rachel
This was just the most random poem I've ever written. I was just thinking of a time where there was chaotic destruction and sadness... famine, disease. FUN!
(In my opinion, this is the worst I've ever written, but hey, it's a free country.)

Haha, I actually really liked this. You don't really get the sense of panic or chaos until you read the quotes, but I think that makes it all the more effective.

I'll have to read more of your stuff if you think this is your worst! ;)
