Cactus Love

Cactus Love

A Poem by ZackOfBridge
"

Surplus

"

If you were

a cactus

I would kiss you

with my skin

even.

You would sting

like the scorpion

to the

gullible swan.

You are

a cactus.

Really, I can’t

blame you

but I would

cut you down.

In the eye of the

desert there

you would sit

Fermenting

&I'd pour

You're Tequila

drops

We must, with godspeed

Declare against the sun

Scoundrel! Delinquent!

Enemy number one!

summon haste

Send the best

Far away

Into the middle of it

The man who’d read

all the books

Of this world

and the next

Hollowed

his mind

and ate

his third eye
