Unsaid

Unsaid

A Poem by ZAIRA
"

Resolution to subdue emotions for an out of bounds relationship.

"
She never says these words
Swallows them back to the heart
From where it rises.
The sight of him kindles her imagination
Just as his thoughts leave behind a trail
Of reminiscences strewn around
To gather like shells on a midnight beach.

Her mouth battles to win the nudge over the forbidden thoughts
Sculpted so immaculately into these coveted words
From every longing gaze exchanged and
Tender kisses planted on her forehead.
Her tongue pretzels behind the cherry red lips
That trembles to kiss his face
Holding back the expressions he so long wanted
To flow as words.

But yet again..she prefers
To seal her lips with a sip of wine
To tame her tempest and shut her mind
And not say, "Stay..With me."
