Hour Glass

Hour Glass

A Poem by Zall
"

Watching life go by.

"

Hour Glass

Look, see the sand stand still

Watch as it slowly trickles to a stop

The hour glass it turning

Sand tipping to the side

Weight of the world bearing down

The sudden stop

Frozen motion

Nothing to do but watch

Time stands still

Sand unmoving

Hit the ground running

Sand flying up

Only to freeze mid-air

Baffled by what could happen

Nothing to do but watch

The hour glass turning

Sand slowly falling

Trickling down from edges to center

Falling through the cracks of life

Slow-motion pictures everywhere

Nothing to do but stare

Blankly as life trickles away

Trickles away in an hour glass

Filled with sand.
