"I ran, my feet pounding on the pavement of the street."

"
The shadows crept up the darkened walls as my heart sped. I ran, my feet
pounding on the pavement of the street. My breath raced almost
uncontrollably. Where was I. Had I ever seen this street before in the
daylight? Behind me the creature’s footsteps got louder. I turned
dodging a wheely bin. Whatever the creature was behind me, gained
rapidly. I crouched, hoping it wouldn’t find my hiding place. I’ts
pounding feet raced past me. Untill suddenly it stopped, it sniffed the
air. Turning toward me it growled. Sweat was pouring from my aching
body. The creature made it’s way closer untill it finally struck…
