Dreaming Reality

Dreaming Reality

A Poem by Zinger_Wingz

I’m lost in a cloud somewhere
Life is cradling back and forth.
There’s a tingling heat rushing down my spine
And I just feel so calm and gone like in the midst of silence.
I hear the beautiful sounds of water and peace,
The nights are shining with the stars above me.
Dressed in my blue tutu dress, I run across the daffodil fields
With so much happiness, with so much joy.
With fireflies forming a halo’s and lady bugs shedding kisses
I rolled in the grass and tilted my head to see my Father lay beside me
Telling me the sweetest of love
And all I could do was admire how handsome of a man he was
With his tender smile, with his warming stare, with his compassionate touch.
How precious, the loving embrace of a father
Then out of nowhere, we heard a thunder.
Quickly we shifted as darkness began to fall upon us,
Shades of lightning flicked the sky as we steadily gathered ourselves to return home.
Here comes the rain and it’s pouring,
He grabbed my little hand and we ran as fast as we could
I later felt his hand slip out of mine and I heard a loud SPLASH!
It was my father. My father had fallen to the ground.
As I turned around to go help him up,
I saw him sink into the ground
Then a faceless being who appeared as a mass of glowing dark energy arose from that very ground,
Looked me dead in the eyes and smiled at me.
This faceless being sunk back into the ground
But it did not leave alone
It dragged my Father into the ground with him
Then suddenly I saw everything---
---- TASHIYA TASHIYA!!!
Awaking to the screams of my name
I snapped out of it, surrounded by the concerned faces of my aunties.
It was all just a dream, or a thought
An illusion in a state of my unconsciousness
It was the result of hearing the news about my father’s death.
I jumped out of the sofa and ran into his room.
I grabbed his stuff screaming,
“Are these not his clothes, how can he be dead?”
Everyone looked at me with so much sympathy, with so much anguish
And in that little moment, I met hopelessness.
I dropped to my knees, tears rushing down my face, wishing those raindrops would drop onto my skin, dissolve me and wash me away for I was but dust.
I wished for that lightning to strike my heart even just once so that it could end.
I prayed so that faceless being would drag me down too.
My soul was no longer a soul just a void of agony.
I was Dreaming a Reality
I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t move.
He left me, My Father left me
I was only 7 and he left me…
