Carte Blanche

Carte Blanche

A Poem by Zizi Abok

A scenario to ideate, just close your eyes;
Let’s expedite the conveyance of felicity across the fed up multitude
and leave footprints of compassion on our trails
then Ketamine will be tossed to the netherworld for always
and the codeine licking cluster will make up leeway and be wholly mended.

An Oscar cache in the homestead of the impecunious
is the reverie for the faces at the base of the chain.
A narrative of every being blooming sacrosanct,
spot on with long range satiated inducements.

It is a sphere with no open seasons,
so the wildlife won’t wriggle in pain or be terrified
No innocent fauna will have to take cover, terrified and scampering from assorted bullets.

Take your mind’s eye
to the edge of the Laguna
where green living reigns profound.
Inhale the crisp odourless diatomic gas and exhale hope,
hope infinite.

Now open your eyes;
Welcome back to actuality
Needless to say a dozen guts are tainted and a million fists tied to travesty.
