"R.I.P. (Trying To Go To Bed)"

A Poem by Zoe Anne

“R.I.P. (Trying to Go to Bed)”

There are creepy crawlers in my brain,

I don’t want to go through this pain,

Not now, or ever again…

I just want to make amends.

Nightmares haunt my dreams;

Everything isn’t always what it seems.

There are so many moments that I wish I could redeem,

But I’m afraid that my time has turned into seamless steam.

Shadows covet the light,

Or any star that shines bright,

Especially during the night,

Whilst in the day it is nothing but a shameless fright.

I try to weep,

As soundlessly as when I sleep,

I hope my soul will be something for me to keep,

Instead of those who love to creep.
