"Bureaucracy"

"Bureaucracy"

A Poem by Zoe Anne

“Bureaucracy”

Peace, love, and flowers,

That’s all I wanted on top of this tower.

But no, you wanted all of the power,

And all of the people in front of you to cower.

Why, oh why, oh why,

Do you want the whole world to die?

Can’t you be positive,

Instead of being negative?

All you want to do is drill,

And then you want to pop a pill.

You feel like you’re invisible,

Well I guess we’re not really compatible.

You like to pounce,

When you see that first ounce,

Of opportunity, and hope.

Hey, I’m not your pope,

Or your preacher, or your prophet,

So don’t come to me all in a fit.

I hate it when you pull me around like a stupid poodle,

When all I want to do is doodle.

Drill, drill, drill,

Kill, kill, kill.

Tears don’t fall,

Because of the battle that you did call.
